Every time I have traveled Amtrak, I experience some form of noise pollution within the car I am seated in. This trip into Chicago from Waterloo was no different. I was trapped between a chainsaw (some guy snoring loud enough for me to hear him through my earplugs, seated 2 rows in front of me) and a brood of hens (being a couple of older ladies who non-stop squawked the entire 3 hours, and seemed to think the Amtrak conducter was their personal attendant). Needless to say, my own attempt to nap was thwarted.
Sadly, or fortunately, nothing eventful happened in Chicago while I wasted time until I caught the Blue Line out to O'hare for my flight. I did get some great news when I logged into my IPFW email this morning. My Sociology test that was scheduled for Sunday March 3rd was being posted today, to be taken at any point. So, I took it while enjoying an early-morning Miller Lite watching the planes pass on the tarmac, all from the comfort of Delta's Sky Club. Traveling a lot does have its perks. Needless to say, I may have been distracted while taking this test, so no telling how my grade will reflect that.
On a side note- this Sky Club (Terminal 2) is pretty nice. No putting green, but they have switched over to free-pour liquor and beer (following Northwestern's model). And pretty delicious choice of bagels and breakfast snacks.
My camera is packed away, and I have no intention of pulling it out while I sit around the airport here. But if you want a picture of O'hare, just google it. I do plan on digging it out once I am out of Customs at Ataturk. That should be in about 18 hours.
